VAJRAYANA
AUM

------------------
A VEHICLE OF SAVING SENTIENT BEINGS IS THE FINAL GOAL
TO HAVE A FULL VEHICLE, PRACTITIONERS SHOULD ACT ON FOLLOWING PRINCIPLE:
MUST GIVE TO HAVE
A PRACTITIONER WHO ENTERED "NIRODHA SAMAPATTI" AND MADE "SIX GREAT VOWS" IN THAT SAMADHI IS CALLED: BODHISATTVA.
WHO LIVES AND ACTS AS BODHISATTVA IS CALLED BODHISATTVA

A TANTRIC practitioner is a normal person with BODHISATTVA ideals, above connecting with BUDDHAS, below saving sentient beings, in peace time, acting as a normal person, in difficult time, becoming SUPERMUNDANE, SURPASSING THE WORLD.

Here, we only discuss methods to develop a MANDALA at the most.
After finishing self-protection, make six great vows (in THE HIGHEST stage of samadhi):

1. Sentient beings are numberless, we vow to SAVE them all.
2. Delusions are endless, we vow to CUT through them all.
3. Blessedness and wisdom is endless, we vow to PRACTICE them all
4. The teachings are infinit, we vow to LEARN them all.
5. Bodhisattva's work is boundless, we vow to SERVE them all
6. The Buddha way is inconceivable, we vow to ATTAIN it.

A TANTRIC practitioner is a normal person with BODHISATTVA ideals, above connecting with BUDDHAS, below saving sentient beings, in peace time, acting as a normal person, in difficult time, becoming SUPERMUNDANE, SURPASSING THE WORLD.

The basic of Vajrayana

Aimed at introducing Vajrayana, I and Mr. Hồng Phả composed this document on 10th October 1985. This document consists of three parts:
1. What is Vajrayana?
2. How to practice Vajrayana?
3. The point of view of Vajrayana practitioners.

Part 1:

HL: What is Vajrayana?
HP: Vajrayana is a sect of Buddhism, uses Tantric Speech of Buddhas as vehicle to cultivate.

HL: What is Tantric Speech?
HP: Tantric Speech means esoteric speech, called as “true words”, that means true speech. Tantric Speech is also known as Mantra, it is the most popular name that people use, mantra also means secret speech.

HL: Why mantra is esoteric?
HP: It is esoteric because it is not explained, esoteric because only Buddhas can fully understand. Esoteric because it makes incredible results. Esoteric because, depending on the level of ability and application, each other understands differently thus getting a different result. Esoteric because the transmission only occurs during initiation (permission to practice) between teacher and student, between Buddhas or who say the true words and practitioners, this fact, only who have already practiced Vajrayana can verify. Esoteric because the result depends on practitioner’s mind.

HL: Why using mantra as vehicle to cultivate?
HP: According to Buddhism, there are many methods to attain ultimate Enlightenment, some recite Buddha’s names, some chant Sutras, some meditate, so using mantra is also just “borrowing car” to go to the destination.

HL: Why choosing mantra while not using the other methods such as reciting Buddha’s names, chanting Sutras?
HP: In a journey to go to any goal, people often like to choose the car that is the fastest and comfortable one, so selecting mantra or using other vehicles is also just like that.

HL: Why Mantra is the fastest vehicle?
HP: Because, while using mantra, beside jiriki there is tariki, as boating with smooth sailing, so by winds pushing that goes faster.

HL: So what is jiriki, what is tariki?
HP: Jiriki means basing on your own strength to complete works, Tariki is relying on outside power to help. When Vajrayana practitioners talk about tariki, it refers to the invisible support from realms around the universe.

HL: So why to rely on tariki?
HP: Because personal strength is limited but outside strength is unlimited, if relying on that super strength, it will help us to attain results quicker.

HL: what does we rely on to have the tariki supporting?
HP: Due to true words, that is mantra.

HL: what does it bases on to say mantra has tariki?
HP: This is about secret that only be proved by one’s own faith, by the verifying and feeling (experience). The result is demonstrated only when already practiced.

HL: So where is mantra from?
HP: Mantra exists due to Buddha mind, due to the compassion to all sentient beings. Buddhas, Bodhisattvas or others, from the true mind and compassion to all sentient beings, say out mantra for salvation. Because it rises from the true mind so named true speech.

My (Master Tibu) additional comment:
We notice 2 ways to represent one event as below:
As we use the phrase:
“Dog barking sound” to describe action of a dog
We also have the other way is writing down: Woof! Woof! That is the former real sound of a dog when barking.
One more example for more clearly:
When we use the phrase: “The sound of a motor climbing a slope is heavy” that we talk about the noise coming from the motor when climbing the slope, but there is no sound.
However, to describe it more clearly, we then use the term:
A buzz motor heavily climbs a slope: Ùnn! Ùnn!!!
Then the buzz sound: Ùnn! Ùnn! is the sound of the motor when climbing the slope.
So at here, when talking about salvation action of a Buddha (such as Amitabha Buddha), we must talk about 42 (forty-two) great vows of Him:
But when being in front of Dharmakaya and listen to His sound while doing salvation, we then hear the true word “Hrih” that is the former sound represents His great vows.
And when we use our mind to generate this sound, we unintentionally...are accompanied with Dharmakaya so have results quickly.

HL: What is the benefit of reciting mantra?
HP: Because mantra is originally from the unlimited that is Buddha mind, so its benefit is also unlimited, unmeasurable. Thus, for Vajrayana practitioners, the right and practical advantage is helping us to quickly find the path of Enlightenment, help other people to go with us on the Bodhi path. The other dharma such as expelling evil spirits, health treatment are just additional. Should not see mantra under that narrow eyes.

HL: Oh, so who can utter mantra?
HP: Mantra is the vehicle of Buddha for lending, so are there anyone has no right to read? However, when we borrow a car, the most essential thing is that do we know how to use it or not? If not, the car will be a barrier, a difficulty for us, that makes us stopping with the car and can not go forward on the Bodhi Path. Hence, people who know how to drive, understand the car’s diseases, must be who have been speciality trained.
Therefore, everyone can utter mantra but whether the result is? How much the result is?, that’s the real problem!!!
That has not mentioned the possible harm yet. Nevertheless, not only true speech practitioners can utter mantra but whoever with heartfelt mind directs toward the sake of others also can use mantra efficaciously.

HL: What is the requirement to utter mantra?
HP: Obviously, some conditions are required, normally we must firmly believe on them, be sincere when uttering, direct toward the sake of other people or all sentient beings.
Vajrayana practitioners also need many other things such as: how to come out (detachment)? How to control mind? How to use power? How to utilize in four respect-inspiring deportment: walking, standing, lying, sitting? How to be “The three mystic things are identical”? How to help sentient beings? How to transfer merit? All of those things, in private for Vajrayana practitioners, will be  answered in part 2 (What do Vajrayana practitioners have to do?)

HP: Oh, So when should we utter mantra? And when should not?
HP: Should utter mantra when our mind is in purity, or helping other people! Should not utter when the mind is in disorder or having malicious intent to others.
However, if it is able to keep the mind in purity, we can utter it whenever we want.
Conversely, mantra also helps us to purify our mind if we know how to use mantra at the right time and in the right place.
For Vajrayana practitioners, there is no instant that should not utter mantra, the problem is what mantra should be uttered? On which case? to help all sentient beings.

HL: For Vajrayana practitioners, what is the goal to recite mantra?
HP: The ultimate goal is self-liberation and saving other people. The goal is cultivating to be Buddha by mantra vehicle in this present life.

HL: How to cultivate to be Buddha by the mantra vehicle?
HP: Vajrayana practitioners must successfully perform “The Three Mystic Things Are Identical” that means making body, speech and thought are as Buddhas.

HL: How to be “The Three Mystic Things Are Identical”?
HP: To be “The Three Mystic Things Are Identical”, must pass a process of learning and practicing. Going fast or slow depends on the self-realization and mind opening of practitioners.

HL: How do Vajrayana practitioners regard to Sila, Samadhi, Wisdom?
HP: In order to follow Buddhism and want to be successful, there is no sect that does not have Sila, Samadhi, Wisdom. For Vajrayana practitioners: Sila is the world of the mind, that means we are aware that it is necessary to keep Sila, to back to the purity by ourself. That purity is body identically.
If not keeping Sila then the cultivation has no result, while if Sila is ok then entering Samadhi is not hard. Because Sila bears Samadhi, if also relying on the majestic force of true speech, result will definitely be taken, hence : due to Samadhi that Wisdom develops obviously. However, when looking deeper, Samadhi and Wisdom is selfsame, not disjointed. Therefore, if keeping Sila and relying on true speech to practice, practitioners will attain both Samadhi and Wisdom.

HL: Is Vajrayana belong to Theravada or Mahayana?
HP: Dividing into Theravada and Mahayana is just temporarily separated to easy to understand about practicing paths and practicing concepts. Vajrayana is not belong to any Yana above because Vajrayana path is the fastest route, the shortest, one step to liberation so it is also called as “The Supreme Vehicle” or “The Diamond Vehicle”.

HL: What is “The Supreme Vehicle”?
HP: “The Supreme Vehicle” means one step up to be Buddha, The Supreme Vehicle means comprehending everything pervasively, all things are adequate, mind is undefiled, aways from all aspects to go into Buddha mind indeed.

HL: What is the Vajrayana path?
HP: Cultivating Vajrayana is for salvation of all sentient beings, not only for our own liberation, so the Vajrayana path is: everywhere, everytime all is for the sake of all sentient beings, use born-salvation, parahita (welfare for others) vehicle to atmahitam (self-profit)

HL: What difference among Vajrayana and other sects?
HP: Because the ultimate goal of all sects is “Enlightenment” and “Liberation” so Vajrayana does not go out that goal. If there’s difference, the difference is in the practice vehicle compared with other sects. In other words, the difference is in the way of using vehicles to reach the Enlightenment goal, this issue will be wider discussed in part 3 (The Point of View of Vajrayana Practitioners). About the difference in the born-salvation field, I do not mention because everything depends on conditions to apply.

HL: Is Vajrayana cultivation hard?
HP: Hardness or easiness depends on our own, old folk often say: “The first step is the hardest”, that means everything is hard when starting. It is easy when we get use to it.

HL: Can female practice Varayana?
HP: Dharma does not distinguish between male and female, Buddhas do not select male or female to save privately, so why do we distinguish? As finding the Enlightenment so why not old or young, big or small, male or female can find Enlightenment?

HL: Great! It is popularly known that “self-cultivation, atmahitam (self-profit)”, is Vajrayana like that?
HP: It should be known that “self-cultivation, atmahitam” is we cultivate by our own, nobody cultivates for us or is employed to cultivate for us.
Do not understand that cultivation without Teacher! Old folk have taught: “You can not be successful without teacher”. Therefore, whatever in world or supra-world, to reach the destination quickly, all got to learn and have Teacher. Vajrayana is too.

HL: People often say: Chanting mantra, clasping mudra are superstition and belong to evil, as shamans or wizards. So how about Vajrayana?
HP: When believing blindly then it is superstition. Vajrayana practitioners are aware of what has been doing and have their goal to go, so how it could be superstition?
About the just or unjust, it must be understood that Dharma is not divided into just and unjust, and just or unjust depends on the mind of cultivators:
If we follow the right path but we use those vehicles to do bad deeds such as:  stealing money, wife and children of others; full of greed, hatred and delusion... so that we are doing unjust deeds.
And if we are shamans but we act to help people, do not think to private interests, do not harm good people, prevent bad people, then that is the right path, not pagan.
About Vajrayana practitioners: Cultivating to be Buddha, so how can be called “unjust”? Buddha and Mara is only different at the compassion and salvation while compassion and salvation are the guideline of Vajrayana.

HL: Do Vajrayana practitioners need to eat vegetarian food?
HP: It is good if keeping vegetarian diet. Both less diseases and cultivating quicker because of pure body. If not able to eat vegetarian food, it is still ok for cultivation, the only thing is that we do not express the compassion of Buddha when we use the body of other sentient beings to keep ourself alive.
About Sila, Buddhists, who have taken refuge, all have to keep five precepts: No killing. No stealing. No sexual misconduct. No wrong speech, lying, two tounge, using piercing words. No intoxication. And Vajraraya is so, this issue will be discussed in the next section. Vajrayana practitioners when indeed cultivating, do not talk about keeping Sila but even self-keeping Sila more than anyone.

HL: But how to know which mantra is strong, which mantra is weak? Which one is efficacious, which one is not?
HP: Strong or weak, when learning and practicing you will know. Efficaciousness or not relies on ourself. Old folk have said: “ Efficaciousness or not is all due to ourself”, we should not forget that.

HL: When a Buddhist read Sutras and meet a mantra with great results have been stated, is there any benefit if reciting it?
HP: Yes, but the benefit is very small compared with the benefit is written in Sutra.

HL: Why the benefit is small?
HP: Because of greed: want to get self-interests, because of narrow mind so the efficaciousness is not big, because of unskillfulness of how to recite mantra so the effect is not satisfied, because of lacking mudra dharma so not entire yet, because of not enough merit while wanting to have big ritual.

HL: Why does reciting mantra need clasping mudra?
HP: Mudra is an esoteric dharma belongs to “Tantric Body”. It will be understood after a long time of practicing. It can roughly explain that: when we are clasping mudra, we can bring into play the mantra’s power. It is like opening TV adds antenna. For Vajrayana practitioners, clasping mudra is also to enter the Dharmakaya Buddha.

HL: Why do Vajrayana practitioners call it “reciting mantra”?
HP: Recitation means getting hold, if we only utter it then it will fly by following the wind. While reciting, you must hear the mantra clearly, must follow the mantra’s sound, must hold the mantra forever. That is the difference between uttering and reciting.

HL: How long to have results by practice reciting mantra and clasping mudra?
HP: Vajrayana practitioners come to practice to save all sentient beings only, not expect results for themselves. About how long to accomplish, how big or small all depends on ourself. Only 2 things that definitely can be said are:
Following Varayana, practitioners can evolve hour by hour, day by day.
When getting achievement, the difference is how big or small only.

HL: What is evolving hour by hour, day by day?
HP: This issue is about verifying, you can see clearly only when cultivating. However, it can be said that, relying on true speech, then it is able to evolve very fast, be different in hour after hour, day after day.

HL: Why are achievements different (big or small)?
HP: For practitioners, the attainment is whether big or small depending on their mind. If comparing between two practitioners, depending on ability, merit and how the mind opening of him/her, so having the difference. However, if trying to cultivate to reach the equivalence, the tiny accomplishment at the beginning will then grow infinitely. Hence, practitioners should not worry about not accomplishing and also not be sad because of small achievement.

HL: What conditions are required to practice Vajrayana?
HP: Buddhism door is expanded, does not prevent anyone, so there is no requirement. If practitioners want to save all sentient being then it’s ok to cultivate. If we already have faith and compassion, there is no barrier to cultivate.

HL: What are the features making Vajrayana better than other sects?
HP: Comparing Vajrayana and other sects is just to know the difference, not to discriminate which one is better.

HL: So what is the difference?
HP: The most salient and conspicuous point is that Vajrayana uses mantra to be vehicle and due to this vehicle, brings great benefit especially.

HL: How great is the benefit?
HP: Karma is what makes people rolling in samsara, now thanks to mantra, we change that karma, release that karma to liberate, this is the most important difference of Vajrayana compared with other sects.

HL: Is there any difference else?
HP: Mantra also helps practitioners to reinforce merit, eradicate offenses and karma, that are not easily solved if following other sects. Those are just the practical issue of samsara phenomenon, not yet mentioned these benefit such as health treatment, increasing life span...v.v...

HL: Is it ok if Buddhists, who follow other sects and often read Sutras, recite mantra and clasp mudra by themselves?
HP: It is ok, nobody forbids it. However, cultivating by that way is like the blind playing knife: more harm than good.

HL: Why is it more harm than good?
HP: Because mantra is a double-edged sword. It is very sharp if you know how to use, if not then easily be cut.

HL: So what is its significance?
HP: Once is called mantra means it has great efficaciousness, then also has no-small harmful effect to practitioners if do not know how to use.

HL: Harmful? How does it harm?
HP: There are many monks and Buddhists reciting mantra in a long time become crazy, abnormal that are the naturally reaction of mantra.

HL: So how to recite mantra and clasp mudra?
HP: Must be received an initiation (or permission to practice) in a right way by Vajrayana Masters, or who have been cultivating Vajrayana, should not be done carelessly by yourself.

HL: How to be received the initiation?
HP: Must join Dharma Lineages of Vajrayana.

HL: What is joining Dharma Lineages?
HP: That is asking for joining the Dharma Lineages and cultivating by following who have experience and practice that Dharma Lineage.

Master Tibu answered TN's mail:
-----------------------------------------

Dear Mr. HL and all,

The questions and answers about Vajrayana of HL and HP are pretty good, do you think that we should print it to a booklet to disseminate to everyone who wants to learn and practice Vajrayana? Wasting these material and experience of real cultivation and real evidence is very regrettable. With the development of word processor, now printing is not too expensive. So HL and HP, please allow me to save these documents in a website on internet, when my finance condition is enough, I will print it to booklets to present these copies to everyone who are interested to learn.
And I would like to dedicate all the merit to all sentient beings.

Regards,
TN

A TANTRIC practitioner is a normal person with BODHISATTVA ideals, above connecting with BUDDHAS, below saving sentient beings, in peace time, acting as a normal person, in difficult time, becoming SUPERMUNDANE, SURPASSING THE WORLD.

Vajrayana

Vajrayana is a method to go from “Sattva” (Existence) path to “Sunyata” (Emptiness) path.

Because it’s name is “Vajrayana” so everyone guesses it is “Secret”, is “Esoteric”, is “Only a small number of people know”. Or this Dharma is “belong to upper classes”

Therefore, many Teachers all pretended that Vajrayana is “Tantric” so they can say whatever they want.
“Vajrayana” Dharma is fooled by those Teachers to such an extent that, until now, there are quite a little of people know what it is.

Of course, that is a big mistake of some people, who work as “Monk”.

While nobody fancies that: Tantric is “ The Three Mystic Things are Identical”.
Expressing as the way below is reasonable and easy to understand:

The Three Mystic Things are: Body, Speech, Mind.
Identical is: the same, similarly, coincidence.

Hence, 'The Three Mystic Things are Identical' means: Practitioner is like Buddha. That is...finishing cultivation.

What is finishing cultivation?
That is 'The Five Skandhas are Empty'.

And because of going from the “Sattva” path so it is very different from the “Sunyata” path.

“Sattva” path means having all kinds:
1. Bodhisattva Nimitta (in tibu’s case, it is the Thousand Hands, Thousand Eyes and 11 Heads Nimitta of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva),
2. Buddha Nimitta (the tibu’s is Amitabha Buddha),
3. Practitioner Nimitta
4. Dharmapala Nimitta (Dharma Defender Nimitta)
5. And also a Nimitta of the highest-level Buddha: That is the Nimitta of Mahavairocana Buddha on the Pure Land of Vairocana.

Once Buddhist Priests collect this set of Nimitta enough, they will perform “Reverting to the original state” stage.

This five nimittas, when converging at the centre of the Pure Land of Vairocana, play the role of the Five Skandhas.

And when “Five Man Merging” stage (the noun of lubu) is implemented, practitioner can be:
- A Buddha
- A Pratyeka Buddha
- A Bodhisattva

This process is found by tibu, the practicing is miserably hard and sometimes dangerous. Especially when performing the experience of two vajra pestles intersecting, three vajra pestles intersecting, four vajra pestles intersecting and finally five vajra pestles intersecting.
Then to the “Reverting to the original state” stage.

Afterwards, tibu had again found out a way for “Nhí” that directly penetrating while do not need to pass the process above! An innovation only in Vietnam.
This process is simple, less difficult and less dangerous, if practitioners rely on the tasks in favor of “Born-Salvation Merit”

Two Nhí have followed close behind tibu and used the Ashram to do the tasks in favor of Born-Salvation Merit.

And when meeting Mahavairocana Buddha, both of two Nhí had enough merit and had penetrated into the process of five vajra pestles intersecting that creats the well-known detonation sound: Subham!

Tibu cannot write out clearly the “Reverting to the original state” process because as sure as writing out then Two Nhí will immediately do it, while the health status has not recovered well enough yet. And that is very dangerous.
End.

A TANTRIC practitioner is a normal person with BODHISATTVA ideals, above connecting with BUDDHAS, below saving sentient beings, in peace time, acting as a normal person, in difficult time, becoming SUPERMUNDANE, SURPASSING THE WORLD.

General Concept of Vajrayana Cultivation in Buddhism

Normally, practitioners often get start by reciting mantra and reading sutras in this field. In which often mentions the effect of mantras. In a deeper level, there also discuss about magic circles (mandala). And of course, there are also some mudra’s images.

However, to have sufficient effect as mentioned in the sutras, practitioners must have a strong mind power, a lifestyle full of “Great Vows”. And such a passion that is “obsession” for investigating the phenomenons of other worlds (also known as “realm”).

Obviously, to have a strong mind power, there’s no better than Fourth Jhana (is minimal requirement), and Arupaloka realms.

A lifestyle full of “Great Vows”: is a venturesome and daring way with “the Death”, through “venture actions” to help people.

Passion for investigation is:
After each question: Why?
Is a time period for self-gripping, keeping Sila earnestly by inspecting the mind constantly, and meditating diligently.
Doing likes that is to keep the mind purifying, that means:
The mind is in silent ,then be deeper in the silence, and finally the mind is in balance in the silence.
Due to this balance so that any thought, which touches practitioners, is immediately aware by them.

Investigation:
And after that, using TV screen and putting the question in. There are two cases:

1. The TV screen is silent: Practitioner’s mind has not enough the purity to solve the issue.
Solution: Keep self-gripping and mediating diligently to gradually up from Fourth Jhana into higher Jhana in Arupaloka realms.

2. The TV screen responses immediately when putting the question in.

Having this overview and practitioners still doggedly think that:

Although it is very hard but I’m still able to practice.

And if it is necessary then ... sacrificing to do it at any cost.
If satisfying this final criteria, practitioners know that they were born to practice Vajrayana Buddhism.

A TANTRIC practitioner is a normal person with BODHISATTVA ideals, above connecting with BUDDHAS, below saving sentient beings, in peace time, acting as a normal person, in difficult time, becoming SUPERMUNDANE, SURPASSING THE WORLD.

Mantra

Mantra is true speech or telling the truth, mantra’s meaning is only known by Buddhas. Mantra is due to Buddha mind and the compassion of Buddhas to exist. Buddhas’ Tantric speech is esoteric miracle that only be known amongst Buddhas, even Saints cannot achieve. Just reciting also can eliminate extremely offense to be a Saint quickly.

Mantra cannot be explained because mantra is faultless, explaining by words makes it becomes one-sided, reduces the miraculous power of mantra. Therefore, cannot explain it clearly to other people, esoteric meaning is in it, need to be pondered.

Effect of Mantra is different, individually depends on who transmits and also depends on mind power of practitioners. The verifying and result will be revealed after practicing.

Below are some popular mantras:

Buddha, BodhisattvaMantra
Shakyamuni BuddhaOm, Muni Muni Mahamuni Sakyamuni Svaha
Mahavairocana BuddhaOm, Vairocana Hùm
Ratnasambhava BuddhaOm, Ratnasambhava Tram
Amoghasiddhi BuddhaOm, Amogasihhi Ah
Amitabha BuddhaOm, Amitabha Hrih
Akshobya BuddhaOm, Akshobya Hùm
Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva         Om Mani Padme Hùm
Manjusri BodhisattvaOm Driym
Cundi BodhisattvaOm Kalê Kulê Kundê Svaha
Ksitigarbha BodhisattvaOm Chalohê Kara Svaha
Vajra DharmapalaOm Vajra Agnipranan Pataya Svaha

Furthermore, there are many kinds of mantra: self-protection, healing, dragon taming,...

Reciting Mantra

As students learn martial Arts with varied weapons:
Short stick, long stick, two-chunks (whip of Li Xiaolong), three-chunks (four times as long as the two-chunks)...All is...deadly. However, someones may like long weapons, while others like the short one. Hence, Mantra is also like that. Now discussing about the level when reciting mantra and the it’s symptom. There are many level of Reciting mantra:

1. Self-Defence Level for Beginner:
The effect is using language. “There are infinite meanings” of Mantra for reducing misleading in gross mind. In a little bit higher level, potent Demons follow practitioners to guard the mantra because they like practitioner’s characters such as: trying to cultivate while do not have enough time. Since then, amateur practitioner had a bodyguard so his/her premonition is quite sensitive.

2. Reciting Mantra in Upacara:
Due to pure gross mind so Upacara state (nearly entering Samma Samadhi) appears: This state makes practitioners feel like there are someones following or behind him/her back. We can experience their appearance through a cold sensation in the back of the neck or a heavy sensation behind the neck in the shoulder-blade area. In this level, if having a lot of merit, practitioners can cure demonic possession or break enchantment and sometimes cure some sicknesses but the result is not really clear. Invisible friends are mostly in Paranimmitavasavatti.

3. Reciting Mantra in Samma Samadhi:
It now can be called Vajrayana practicing at this stage. Because almost mandala developing requires practitioners must have a minimal level of Fourth Jhana. In other Jhana stages such as Third, Second or First Jhana, practitioner’s mind power is still weak and thus: not enough power to switch the Mantra and learn from that Mantra.

In summary, if practitioner’s level is just at Self-Defence Level for Beginner, they should recite the most familiar one.
