1. I began a new rosary prayer:
Seven Sorrows of Mary:
- Prophecy of Simeon
- Flight to Egypt
- Loss of Jesus in the temple
- Meeting Jesus on the way to the cross
- The crucifixion of Jesus
- The piercing of Jesus side with a sword
- The burial of Jesus
2. Mary told me that I must strive to be the Mother of all Society. Although you may not have biological children of your own, your mission is to be the Mother of all those around you.
3. I then gained a better understanding of the prophecy of Simeon. (Mary's first of her seven sorrows). Mary brought Jesus to the temple per Jewish tradition to be cleansed after giving birth. Simeon declared to God (đề mục) that he can now pass on to the afterlife (he has been on earth for over 200 years) as he has finally met Jesus. He told Mary, that Jesus would be the rise and fall of many, "all for a sign that is opposed" (the sign is God, prayer, meditation - the ultimate belief that is the truth, but denied by many). Also, that Mary's soul would be pierced by a sword (the sword is a metaphor for unbearable sorrow) "so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed" (meaning, so that others may attain spiritual enlightenment by opening themsleves to the truth through their souls, which is controlled by their mind and heart). This allowed Mary to envision her mission of acceptance and unfathomable love for society, to endure the pains of her son's suffering and ultimate death - which is the worst of all sorrows and sacrifices a mother can experience - in order to reveal spiritual deliverance to many. She must maintain selflessness and stern commitment to see Jesus through his calling to bring others to God. Her mission was to cultivate her ability to change a societal attitude in order to attain spiritual enlightenment; we are what we attract, therefore, we must change our humanly behaviors before we can reach a higher level of spirituality, before we can attract positive entities so that they can reach us.
4. Doing the Hộ thân. I was able to keep negative entities outside of the home; however, if the entity has already claimed the person from within their bodies, their strength will be lessen, but their influence on the person will remain. If your strength and faith is strong enough and if the person can still be influenced, such as a child, you can expel the negative force temporarily from their body, but they will be reclaimed after leaving the sanctuary of your home. Who they are as a human is why they attract particular entities - good and bad. Part of it is their karma returning to them and the other part is who they have become/remain in this life. Their life and behavior is a combination of who they are (their attitude/personality) and what entities influence them because the entities are attracted to that particular behavior and lifestyle.
5. Understanding vô thường. Although our current life is designed by the karma (nghiệp) we have gained from past actions, we can change the direction of our current life (spiritually and physically) incidentally from what actions (both positive and negative) that we make in our current life. But it takes self-awareness and realization that we are wrong or need to change in order to change our karma for the better. If a person lacks self-awareness or their attitude is set in their ways, there is little chance that their karma (nghiệp) will change and intervention from another person would be futile.
6. Physical karma (nghiệp sắc). When we intervene in human-based karma, such as health-related problems and relationship issues, we accept part of that human-based karma physically for them and the effects of our acceptance of their karma is based on our strength when we do so (i.e. effects of a spider bite or complications from child birth). We cannot accept the karma in place of everyone as it depends on our relationship (duyên) with them. Same as when we deliver their soul after death to spiritual destinations. Accepting human-based karma is in a sense easier than that in which requires spiritual intervention.
7. Spiritual intervention (nghiệp theo về cảnh giới atula). When a person's karma has been influenced by a spiritual entity, we are now interfering with the spiritual entities "work". Although we may not agree with the entities actions and influence on the person, if we intervene, the entity will target us or those who are close to us and easier to influence spiritually. They will use our own human weaknesses (anger, affections, sadness) against us, and as a possible result, change our karma and increase negative karma. Also, there has to be a level of respect for each entities work, whether it be because of the person's karma that they must repay or because of that person's allowance of them into their lives; those entities have their own purpose. For someone to be released from that entities' power, they must change their lifestyle/behavior, repay to them the karma they took, become self-aware of the negative presence as well as their attitude, and then reject the entities continual control over them. And, if they are in a family that encourages interactions with negative entities, it is also a part of their karma and they are marked by the entity until they can attain their own self-awareness. All is related to one another. We must know when to let karma take place and not interfere to remain fruitful to help others; not let our feelings (ái) change our own karma, and knowing our capabilities.
8. Self-awareness is the first step to spiritual enlightenment. How we are - our behaviors, attitudes, lifestyle - is interrelated to our spiritual journey. We must first understand how our behavior needs to be changed in order to reach the path to spiritual enlightenment. Are we creating more negative karma for ourselves without knowing it? Although our actions may portray submissiveness to repay our karma debt, our emotions of anger, resentment, sadness may not completely resolve our negative karma and in return attract negative entities. Like a mother, we must nurture positive behaviors and understanding, which is the first step for one to reach the door of positive spirituality. Preach love, respect and acceptance of others despite their backgrounds - teach others to understand grief, sorrow, anger, and sadness and use those feelings to build strength, support, and open hearts. This lesson relates to Mary's message of being a Mother to Society - helping people change their humanly behaviors and being an example to lead them to spiritual enlightenment. Work to "reveal the thoughts in the hearts of many", meaning everyone has good in their hearts and have a chance to be good spiritual people, it's just hidden by their karma, anger, sadness, jealously, etc. Focus on their chest, look at the color it exudes, connect with their feelings and thoughts, and find a way that they will most likely be receptive to changing their behavior and accept positive energy.
After I understood all of these lessons, last week Friday, I got really dizzy. I felt as though I was everywhere and nowhere at the same time (Tibu: Đây là trạng thái: thành sở, bất tại). I laid down to meditate and remained in the state of everywhere and nowhere for 3 hours before I awoke to find that so much time had passed (Tibu: Gọi là... Nhập Đại Định). The following days, when I thought of that feeling of everywhere and nowhere, I would get back into that state for as long as I thought about it. Then starting last weekend, I would have many experiences of seeing Chú (Tibu), Cô Vân (Cô Ba Hột Nút), and Mun (Brightmoon) with me altogether (Tibu: Hội Ngộ với các Bồ Tát); it felt like it lasted only 4-5 minutes and then I'd go back to praying and dreamless. Then, Tuesday night, a bright yellow white light that spins like a tunnel counterclockwise appeared (Tibu: Cảnh... Sơ Phát Tâm của Bồ Tát).
