Chào bạn Phươc:
Thank you for the excellent discussion of language.
Part of the lecture topic reminded me of several personal experiences that I have had communicating with my teacher. My teacher is Vietnamese who speaks hardly any English. I am American who speaks and understands very little Vietnamese. I return to the temple (which is in another state) four or five times during the year for retreats and special ceremonies or services. A translator always assists us during these sessions.
A few times we have noticed this instance of “Dharma language” Example: Master would be speaking to me, through the translator, in Vietnamese language. Before the translator could put the exact words into English I would be able to understand in my heart. I would “nod” in the affirmative or shake my head in the “negative” I could sense the impact. I knew the question or felt the substance of the statement. There was no need to wait. The “language” was coming straight through without a filter. I think this is part of what your “No Religion” talk was about.
Thanks again, Gary
